Adaptive Computing, a provider of private cloud management and high performance computing (HPC) workload management software, has announced a strategic partnership and technology development agreement with In-Q-Tel (IQT) to create a cloud operating system by integrating Moab Cloud Suite and an open source private cloud platform. By integrating best-of-breed components, Adaptive intends to enable broader applicability of private clouds within the intelligence community, as well as in the commercial market.
Moab's policy-based decision engine is designed to enhance open source cloud, making it more efficient and capable as a cloud operating system. Moab brings policy-based optimization to cloud management, managing resource allocation, migrations, maintenance reservations, etcetera. Combining these capabilities with open source enables organizations to save time and money.
"The Moab integration with open source will lead to increased flexibility and cost savings for IQT's customers in the Intelligence Community," comments Rob Clyde, CEO of Adaptive Computing. "We are honored to be a part of this strategic partnership and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship."
This partnership will bring policy-based optimization to the open source platform, enabling much wider adoption for private clouds.
"Adaptive Computing's extensive experience in cloud management software and its unique development capabilities make the company relevant to needs in both the government and commercial market," comments Robert Ames, Senior Vice President in charge of the Information and Communication Technologies practice at IQT. "We are pleased this strategic partnership will help increase our customers' access to this important technology."
