KZO Innovations has signed a technology development agreement with In-Q-Tel, the independent strategic investment firm that identifies innovative technology and solutions to support the mission of the CIA and the broader U.S. Intelligence Community. Though specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed, this strategic partnership will include the further development of KZO's Interactive Video Platform, as well as the introduction and support of these capabilities to the U.S. Intelligence Community.
KZO's Platform delivers a powerful interactive multimedia environment enabling perpetual knowledge exchange and communication. KZO's innovative technology enables and encourages on-going synchronous and asynchronous collaboration around a wide variety of types and formats of live and pre-produced content, thereby extending the material's reach, relevance, utilization and value.
Utilizing deep-tagging technology for streaming content, KZO's Platform provides viewers with the ability to annotate and participate in on-going Q&A and threaded micro-blog discussions associated with specific moments-in-time in the videos, as well as to identify and insert links to additional information, documents, video segments and other learning or analytical materials. The content of these tags is actively indexed and fully searchable across the Platform, providing rapid access to this dynamic universe of material for the entire community of users.
"We are pleased to announce this agreement and become one of In-Q-Tel's portfolio companies," said Wes Cruver, President and CEO of KZO Innovations. "Use of KZO's Platform for training, education, analytics and other applications that benefit tremendously from asynchronous collaboration has been expanding rapidly in commercial and government sectors. Our partnership with In-Q-Tel provides a great opportunity to enhance our technology and expand our presence in the Intelligence Community."
"We continue to witness the rapid proliferation of video and other streaming content on a number of knowledge-management fronts," said Troy M. Pearsall, In-Q-Tel's Executive Vice President of Architecture and Engineering. "KZO's innovative approach to asynchronous collaboration, as well as their unifying of synchronous and asynchronous collaboration, will provide new capabilities individually and collectively across a number of agencies in the Intelligence Community."
