Mersive, a leading provider of visual computing software that creates and manages high performance displays, today announced a strategic investment and technology development agreement with In-Q-Tel (IQT), the independent strategic investment firm that identifies innovative technology solutions to support the missions of the U.S. Intelligence Community. Traditional large scale display solutions are constrained by the physical engineering challenges of optics and light sources, the inflexibility of display electronics, and the slow-pace of hardware evolution. As a result, display innovation lags behind the fast pace at which users have adopted pixel-rich applications such as 3D-modeling, CAD applications and high-resolution imagery used to conduct research, analyze data and perform design tasks. Mersive's patented Sol software has addressed this by transforming large-scale ultra high-resolution displays from a hardware intensive challenge to a software-driven solution.
"Sol enables a new class of displays that use inexpensive commodity projectors to produce exceptional high performance displays solutions," stated Rob Balgley, CEO of Mersive. "The next challenge we will tackle is expanding access and collaboration around displays."
"Our strategic partnership with Mersive will provide our U.S. Intelligence Community customers with access to the company's unique, high performance display solutions," said Will Radosevich, Vice President of the Information and Communication Technologies practice at IQT. "Mersive's ability to create a new class of displays will expand users' ability to view and analyze graphic intensive data and applications."
