FireEye

As cyberattacks became more numerous and more sophisticated, defenders needed new capabilities to cope with the threats they faced. FireEye’s innovative approach to automating malware-hunting used virtual machines to spot attacks mounted by nation-state actors and their proxies that standard intrusion-detection systems missed. The company also developed a threat-intelligence service to share information about the threats it identified.

FireEye’s technology was adopted by multiple IQT partners and has been widely deployed across government. The success the company subsequently enjoyed in building its commercial and government business led to it going public in 2013. In January 2022, FireEye and McAfee Enterprise became a new brand and company named Trellix.
